Her Story

Meet Kathyrn.

In November 2021, our sister Kathyrn Hernandez was placed into a medically induced coma. She would stay there for nearly four months.

She was intubated. She had a tracheotomy. Her kidneys failed and she went on dialysis. She went into cardiac arrest. Twice.

"Doctors gave her a 1% chance. On her ICU floor, she was the only one who made it home."

The doctors told us she'd never walk again. Never talk again. Would need lifelong care. She left the hospital bedridden, on oxygen 24 hours a day, with permanently scarred lungs and a paralyzed vocal cord.

Then she went to work.

Step by step, with her mom, her sister Melissa, and a faith that wouldn't quit, Kathyrn taught herself to move again. To speak again. To breathe on her own.

Today, she breathes without oxygen during the day. She talks. She walks. She holds her new granddaughter — the one the doctors said she'd never meet.

The Fight So Far

What she survived.

  1. Four months in a medically induced coma
  2. Tracheotomy and ventilator
  3. Kidney failure and dialysis
  4. Cardiac arrest — twice
  5. Permanently scarred lungs
  6. Paralyzed vocal cord
  7. A 1% chance of survival

She was the only one on her ICU floor who came home.

What She's Fighting For

Sons. A mother. A granddaughter.

Aaron and Aiden. Her mom. The granddaughter the doctors said she'd never meet.

The Mission

Stem cell treatment.
One more chance.

The battle isn't over. In 2026, Kathyrn was diagnosed with Myositis — a rare, aggressive autoimmune disease that attacks her muscles. There's no cure. It only gets worse.

But there's hope. Stem cell treatment may slow it down. It may even reverse it. It could give her years she wouldn't otherwise have. Years with her sons. Years with her granddaughter. Years she's already fought like hell to earn.

That's what this giveaway is for.
